A reminder on Nominet’s policy for .ltd.uk domains:
All registrants in .ltd.uk and .plc.uk must be incorporated companies (not partnerships of any type or unincorporated companies) listed on the index of company and corporate names (‘the Names Register’) maintained under section 714 of the Companies Act 1985 (or later equivalents);
and
(for .ltd.uk domains) must be entitled to use ‘Limited’, ‘cyfyngedig’, ‘ltd.’ or’cyf’. in their corporate name; or
(for .plc.uk domains) must be entitled to use ‘Public Limited Company’, ‘Cwmni cyfyngedig cyhoeddus’, ‘Plc.’ or ‘ccc’. in their corporate name.

Please note that when applying for .ltd.uk or .plc.uk domains in your control panel or via the API, you must also send an email with the company number and registered name of the company to us at resellers@easynic.com.
Failure to do so will result in a delay in the application for the name being made.
Applications for these domains are made manually and are also assessed manually by Nominet so please bear in mind that confirmation of registration will take longer than with standard domains.
If you believe you have tried to register a .ltd.uk or .plc.uk domain in error (i.e. outwith these rules), please log a ticket to our helpdesk and a refund will be processed to your account.

On June 11, Nominet, the registry operator for .UK, will perform a system upgrade. This upgrade is part of Nominet’s ongoing data restructuring project, and is largely comprised of back-end changes.
These changes will allow Nominet to eventually move to the EPP protocol, and introduce new functions in the future.
Nominet has scheduled this upgrade for Sunday, June 11.
Registrations, renewals, transfers and modifications will be unavailable during this period, however steps have been taken to ensure minimal disruption is experienced.
Please be advised that the Bulk Update tool provided by Nominet will be unavailable between 7th and 11th of June 2007, this is to prepare for the systems upgrade.
Bulk updates to all .uk domain names will not be possible during this time so please ensure you do not request any changes to large numbers of .uk domains.
Easynic are aware that some customers are experiencing difficulties with domain-related operations in the Easynic Control Panel this afternoon.
This is due to our registry services provider, Tucows being down. They are working on this issue and a further update will be given shortly.

The .ORG Production Registry System is scheduled for maintenance on 12 May 2007 between the hours of 15:00 and 19:00 UTC.
During this period, the WHOIS service, will be unavailable.
Registering and manipulating domain and other registry objects will not be possible. Domains will continue to resolve normally.
Tucows, our registration system infrastructure provider, will be moving to a new data centre on Sunday 22nd April.

During this time, registering, renewal, transfer, deletion and management of domain names will see a 3 hour outage followed by up to 6 hours of degraded performance.
The NeuLevel and NeuStar Registries will be performing routine maintenance on all of the production environments on Saturday April 21, 2007 starting at 12:00 UTC (8:00 EDT) and ending at 20:00 UTC (16:00 EDT).
